LCSW Supervision in KY is provided by approved CEU providers – go to Course Catalog.
A list of approved providers can be found on the KY Board of Social Work’s website.
CSWs must take the 1-hour required course about supervision provided and accessible via the board’s website. The course is n demand and free of charge. The certificate from the course must be submitted along with the supervisor’s training certificate when the supervision contract is submitted to the board for approval.
The core area of training applies to the initial 6-hr course AND the 3-hr renewal course. Those areas are as follows:
I. Theoretical Foundations for Clinical Supervision
II. Practice Modalities, Techniques, and/or Approaches to Clinical Supervision
III. KY Rules & Ethics for Clinical Supervision Practice
IV. Evaluating Clinical Supervision
The training can be face-to-face or virtual (e.g., online or on demand). The evaluation form will not be prescribed by the board, in other words, the supervisor can choose their own format to evaluate the supervisee and the supervisee to evaluate the supervision experience. The requirement is that the evaluation takes place every six months, i.e., at least four times during the two years of the CSW’s practice.
Presenter: Hank Cecil, LCSW
The next supervision workshops are listed in the course catalog for both the 6-hour and the 3-hr courses. For other information, please email [email protected]
